The decision of the European Union to return duties on Ukrainian goods could lead to a 70% reduction in exports this year and put Ukraine on the brink of recession. This was stated by the head of the Economic Committee of the Verkhovna Rada Dmitry Natalukha.

"This may create an idiotic situation where we will be forced to come and ask you for money, instead of just making money through trading. Ukraine is being forced to become a beggar," said Natalukha, quoted by <url>.

Kiev fears that the restoration of duties will undermine its ability to finance military operations, First Kharkiv writes.

As reported by EADaily, Kiev offered the European Union to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine from 2026. This was stated by the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko at a meeting of the financial bloc of the "Big Seven" in Canada.
