The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, intends to meet in In Istanbul only with Vladimir Putin. Negotiations with any other representatives are excluded.
This statement was made on Tuesday, May 13, advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak, speaking on the YouTube channel The Breakfast Show.
"The fundamental design of the negotiation process in Istanbul is obvious. There is a person who makes decisions on the part of Ukraine. And, accordingly, there is a person who makes decisions in Russia. Everything else is a formal presence," he said.
Thus, Podolyak put forward a new condition for negotiations, explaining that in his opinion, the contacts of the warring parties at a lower level are ineffective and meaningless.
The adviser expressed confidence that only those who are authorized to make foreign policy decisions, that is, the leaders of the states, should meet to resolve the Ukrainian conflict.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with journalists, suggested that Kiev resume direct talks on May 15 in Turkey. He stressed that we are talking about direct negotiations without preconditions.
After that, Zelensky promised that he would personally arrive in Istanbul and wait there for the Russian leader on May 15, although he was not going to personally participate in the negotiations.
Commenting on the situation, a well-known Ukrainian blogger and politician Anatoly Shariy called Zelensky's behavior an empty bravado and a game for the public. He pointed out that Putin was not going to personally attend the talks.
As EADaily reported, the meeting of the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, and Russian President Vladimir Putin will give nothing but an informational occasion, but perhaps the Kremlin will decide on such a meeting.
