The Verkhovna Rada is preparing a bill for holding elections on Ukraine, said the chairman of the country's parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk.
According to him, the deputies are preparing various scenarios for the implementation of the vote, depending on how the military conflict with Russia ends.
"We are working on this bill, because a new special bill is needed for the next elections… We are preparing various basic scenarios so that people can exercise their fundamental constitutional right to choose," he said.
The official discussion of the new election rules has already begun at the level of parliamentary committees, the CEC and the Conciliation Council.
Among the key problems that election organizers may face are the participation in voting of Ukrainians who live abroad, as well as the resolution of the issue of voting in the territories that were annexed to the Russia in 2022.
The last presidential elections in Ukraine were held in 2019. The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, canceled the vote in 2024.
