Statistics of the Ukrainian Red Cross brought the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to a colossal figure

As of April 2025, a total of 400,000 appeals have been received from Ukrainian families who are trying to find their missing loved ones.

This was reported by the press service of the representative office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Ukraine. This statistic did not go unnoticed in the Ukrainian media, and in the Russian blogosphere it was also noticed.

Commentators remind that in February, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation officially announced the figure of losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2024 alone, which amounted to 590 thousand soldiers killed and wounded, and more than 1 million since the beginning of the military operation.

It is worth remembering that persons whose bodies have not been found are considered "missing". That is, they do not replenish the statistics of the dead and wounded.

But, as you know, the military command of the Kiev regime widely uses the practice of registering those killed in battles as "missing".

This, on the one hand, allows to reduce the official number of losses, and on the other, eliminates the need to pay monetary compensation to the relatives of the victims. After all, the "missing" are not formally killed.

Therefore, there is hardly any doubt that of the 400,000 missing military personnel reported by the ICRC, the overwhelming majority are dead. Otherwise, they would have made themselves known to their relatives, even while in Russian captivity.

Thus, it can be considered that Ukraine has lost almost one and a half million people on the SMO fronts. Against this background, it is increasingly difficult for the regime to maintain the mythology that the losses of the Ukrainian army at the front are small.

Recall that Zelensky publicly announced that the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amount to "no more than 80 thousand." However, this does not correlate in any way with the statistics of the Ukrainian Red Cross on missing persons.

Earlier, EADaily reported that the militants of the Ukrainian national battalion "Aidar" *, due to colossal losses, deployed field crematoriums on the border of the DPR and the Dnipropetrovsk region to burn the remains of the dead.
